Welcome to the General Services/City Clerk Department
The Department of General Services was created during fiscal year 2003-04 to consolidate various functions including General Services responsibilities, all statutory City Clerk functions, and duties associated with the administration of the City’s Mobilehome Rent Stabilization Program.
In addition, the department is responsible for the administration of franchise agreements (animal control, cable, and solid waste [Recycling Programs]), project management for the construction of City facilities and other special projects as assigned, coordination of the City’s Emergency Operations Plan, and management of the City store operation.
Other department functions include the implementation and maintenance of the City’s website, records management (including the appropriate retention and destruction of public documents) and the management of an optical imaging system that includes scanning and indexing all official City documents into a database that can be accessed by authorized users.
