The Community Development Department is primarily responsible for all Planning, Building and Safety, and Code Enforcement functions. Additional responsibilities include the implementation of the City's economic development and redevelopment programs. The Department's mission is to protect and enhance the community's quality of life by ensuring compliance with the City Council's adopted goals, policies, and regulations affecting the natural and man-made environment.
Experienced staff members are ready to provide assistance with every phase of application processing. From clear and concise submittal requirements to final inspections, our City and contract employees are able to provide the full range of services that ensure a timely completion for most projects. Many programs are underway that will enhance the quality of life in Yucaipa. Planning Services
Planning staff assist the City Council, Planning Commission, other staff
members and the general public with all aspects of land use entitlements. Major
programs include the General Plan, Development
Code, Development
Impact Fees,
contract administration, records maintenance and inter-governmental coordination.
The Planning Division staff consists of City employees that are committed to providing the highest degree of professionalism in the performance of their duties. Most planning applications are processed on an actual cost basis, with staff time billed against an initial deposit. However, requests for information are always welcome, and depending on the nature of the request, they can be handled immediately at the public service counter or by scheduling an appointment with a staff member.
